Meet Krystin from Team RA Eskimos
Meet Krystin, Team Captain for RA Eskimos. Having a new baby is a time of celebration and joy and while Krystin did feel these things, she also started feeling an overwhelming amount of pain. The pain started in her feet and moved upwards through her body causing her to go to the doctor several times during the first few months of her new baby’s life. Finally, after three months she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis; and she began a 4 year long journey to find the correct dosage and combination of medications that would ease her pain. Now that Krystin has taken control of her arthritis, life is good and active. She has had to give up roller derby, but exercises as much as she can to stay fit and was even our 2012 Honoree. She works full time as manager for the Forget-Me-Not Bookstore which is a non-profit, volunteer based second hand store from which all the proceeds go straight back into supporting literacy on a local level. She also is a full-time mom to Sullivan. One thing that Krystin wants to let people know is, if you are in pain, ”Try and get checked or at least question your doctor if you have arthritis. Catch it as early as possible.” On July 5th, Krystin will be walking with her mom and aunt who also suffer from arthritis on a daily basis. We jingle for Krystin, her mom, and her aunt…who will you jingle for?!?
